I’ll admit, I’ve known about Johnpaul Ragusa and his store The Imperial Castle for a little bit. Johnpaul had been my corporate rep some years ago, and I had been following his journey.
On an early October day I sat with Johnpaul and talked about how his shop came to be. Walk down the aisle with me and let’s revisit some childhood toys.

With both Christmas and a new Star Wars movie almost here, I am back with a new episode of Ramblin’ Hudson Valley, and this next guest has both of those in common!
The Imperial Castle in Pawling, NY is a toy store located right on a cute corner leading into the main thoroughfare of this quiet and very welcoming downtown area. The owner, Johnpaul Ragusa, and I sit down to chat about leaving his corporate job, and not exactly knowing that this was the path he would take.
By establishing a location here in the Hudson Valley, Johnpaul has created a nostalgic place to enjoy old toys from our youth, as well as keeping a full line of new toys for infants to us older kids!
